1. You may cut yourself on the blade edge.

1. The measurement will become shorter.

What is the purpose of placing the ”bob” into a bucket of water when using a plumb bob in high winds?
1. The plumb bob get heavier when wet and can resist wind better.
2. The plumb bob moves more slowly in water and so it is easier to get a stable reading less affected by wind gusts.
3. The water cools the plumb bob down which lessens the effect of the wind.
4. It makes no difference to the reading.
